Newsletter - October 21, 2026
Fall is just getting started at Front Porch Housing, and we're so glad to share what's coming as we begin to round out the year.
Every family or individual who joins our community is working toward something: a steady job, a healthier routine, a stable home for their kids. Through counseling, financial literacy classes, health care, transportation support, and child and youth programs, they’re gaining the tools to get there. And they don’t do it alone.
Our staff is there each step of the way with encouragement, practical help, prayer, and the kind of accountability that comes from genuine care.
None of this would be possible without friends like you. Thank you for helping create a Christ-centered community where families feel at home and have room to grow. This season is filling up quickly, and there are plenty of ways to be part of it.
Read on to see how you can join us this fall.
Art Therapy:
Finding a Way Forward
In a recent art therapy session, our children used movement and art to create a large collective river around the room. Each child added obstacles representing challenges they have encountered. Together, they brainstormed healthy ways to navigate those challenges.
The session was beautiful, filled with creativity, teamwork, and opportunities to practice emotional regulation and perseverance. The river offered a meaningful lesson: sometimes we can move forward by flowing around an obstacle rather than getting stuck in frustration.
Experiences like these give children space to express themselves, learn from one another, and practice skills they can carry into everyday life.
Race for a Place:
Community in Motion
Our third annual Race for a Place 5K/10K brought residents, volunteers, and supporters together to run, walk, and cheer one another on.
With inflatables lining the finish chute, signs, cowbells, awards, and plenty of high-fives, the morning was full of encouragement. One of the best parts was seeing our community show up for one another.
Thank you to every runner, volunteer, sponsor, and cheering supporter. Your participation helps sustain the supportive services that invest in Front Porch families each day.
